This is another 3D model i made for the large plants, I called this model the Scorpion tree due to it's resemblance to a scorpion's tail. The tree is made up of cylinders that i extruded into spike like shapes which i then coloured to have slight gradient to them. For some reason the colours of this tree were a lot more saturated that the other plants i have made so far, so to fix this i just put a lighter blue overlay over the tree just to make the colours more cohesive with the other plants. I found this surprisingly easier to model than i thought it would be, i had some concerns on how i was going to make the spikes and initially began modelling them more like a squashed can shape, example below, but in the end i found the spike shape to look much nicer. I also had some trouble with the heart shaped fruit, i initially made it out of a sphere polygon but this resulted in some strange geometry problems, in the end i created it out of a cylinder that i extruded to shape, and added in some edge loops to create the top two lobes of the heart. I really like this tree and i think the curved shape could really make some interesting tunnel like environments if these plants were placed close together.

Gantt Chart Percentage -I now have completed 6/15 3D models, i intend to make 2 more this week if i have the time, bringing my total 3D models up to 8/15. I have been trying to get most of the easier models out of the way, these are the ones that have less experimentation in terms of technique so that if something goes wrong i at least have some good looking models that i can use for our project. I do intent to push myself a little more however with some of the more difficult plants just to experiment more with the software.
