What is an NDA? [WEEK 1]

Image
What is an NDA? NDA, standing for Non Disclosure Agreement, is a contract given to all members of a project to protect an IP. It states how, and to whom, you can talk to about ideas surrounding the source of the contract. In the games industry, NDAs are usually given out by an employer when a project is under development, staff and visitors who are informed about this project need to make sure they keep any information regarding it confidential as this could potentially harm the development process. Ideas could be stolen or copied by others which then could cause the original project to fall under a copyright infringement. This could also mean large financial impacts on the company as a whole if the project were to fail due to a breach of the NDA contract. If you were to break an NDA agreement, the company issuing the agreement may choose to seek legal action, Resulting in large fines to recover lost funds. Character Design

Image
For this task we were given the choice between four character archetypes, those being : The brains, The brawn, The leader, and The wildcard. We chose one of the tropes and decided as a group what our setting and theme would be, our group chose Sci fi [specifically retrofuturism/atompunk] and our setting would be in outer space. For my character I chose the Brawn trope, and originally I wanted to go with a quite stocky and stereotypically strong looking creature. I also strayed from this a little and took on the meaning of brawn to be agile and fast but with intimidating looking weapons. The final design I went with was this sleek very angular looking alien with several blades at its disposal. In terms of shape language I tried to make this creature very sharp, quick and in...

About me - My name is Kenny and I am a second year student on the Confetti Games art course. I enjoy drawing, Worldbuilding, Dungeons and dragons, Sewing, Writing stories and looking after my two cats, Faust and Fable. I mostly enjoy working digitally and making characters for my DnD games that I run for my friends, though I do occasionally make other kinds of art such as sewing plushies and making costumes [Usually of mine and my friend's characters].  I chose to study games art as I have had an interest in art and concept art for really as long as I can remember, I would like to one day use my skills to help create a larger project and design all the little details most people overlook. I find the process of worldbuilding and building stories through my designs to be extremely fun and rewarding, and whilst I don't play many games myself I do enjoy watching videos on the lore of videogames I find interesting. I would also maybe like to make art for the Film or TV industry. I h...
