What is an NDA? [WEEK 1]
What is an NDA?
NDA, standing for Non Disclosure Agreement, is a contract given to all members of a project to protect an IP. It states how, and to whom, you can talk to about ideas surrounding the source of the contract. In the games industry, NDAs are usually given out by an employer when a project is under development, staff and visitors who are informed about this project need to make sure they keep any information regarding it confidential as this could potentially harm the development process. Ideas could be stolen or copied by others which then could cause the original project to fall under a copyright infringement. This could also mean large financial impacts on the company as a whole if the project were to fail due to a breach of the NDA contract. If you were to break an NDA agreement, the company issuing the agreement may choose to seek legal action, Resulting in large fines to recover lost funds.
