Plant sprite assets [WEEK 12]

 Using the technique from my previous post, coupled with some 3D modelling aspects i was able to create all of my small plant concepts as sprites that will be used to populate the environment. I really love the mixture of 2D and 3D elements and i think some, especially the pitcher plant, rafflesia, and starfruit look really effective and interesting. Throughout my process i have been uploading the flat pngs and the OBJ files onto my group's discord and onedrive, that way if anything does go wrong i have the base elements that make up these assets so that i can more effectively troubleshoot in unreal engine if necessary. I wanted to make a range of more simple and more detailed plants so that environments dont just have big 3D modelled trees and small board assets that are entirely 2D, i think by having this nice middle ground i can vary the heights and textures in a scene better.

I have now completed all of the plant sprites, i predicted that this would take me at least 5 days but i managed to get it done in 2 so that means i have more time to spend on my other deliverables. I am really happy with all of my sprites and so i think my next task is to get my journal plant sketches finished, i only have 2 left to do for those to mark that task as complete, giving myself around 3 or 4 weeks to get approximately 5-6 big 3D models done, which i think is more than feasible.
