Character design 2 - Quasar

 Silhouettes -

For this character design I already had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted to make, earlier in the week I had sketched out this really fluffy monster type character that I thought would be quite interesting to model in Z brush, with my sketch as a guide i put together some variant silhouettes that still kept the overall fluffy design but had some differences in terms of height, body shape and features. I really liked the second one on the bottom row and as such i made some iterations of this design, giving them a high ponytail, antennae and plantigrade legs. I wasn't sure if we have to rig this character later on so I thought i would go with a plantigrade design just in case that way I wouldn't have to further stress over figuring out the handles and controls for a digitigrade body. In the end I decided to use a variation of the last design for my final idea.

Outfit Iterations -

With this design selected, I put together a set of 4 outfits that i thought i might be able to make in Zbrush, For my last character i realized i didn't make use of any of the extract features and therefore I wanted to make a design this time around that would make use of that function to build up my ability. These outfits all have a selection of tight fitting and loose fabrics for a bit of a challenge. I couldn't choose which design I liked best however so I sent this set of drawings to my peers to get their feedback on which design they liked best. It was a close choice between design 3 and 4, with design 3 winning by just a few points. I was happy with this decision because i think the flared trousers and poncho will be a good challenge.

Orthographic -

Finally I put together an orthograph for my character so that I will be able to model on top of this. This design is a lot more complicated that my previous design, Magdalene. Although i am a bit nervous about making this, I think it will be good to try out new techniques.
