Beta Test & feedback [WEEK 23]

 Feedback Summary -

Today we put out our first beta test to get some feedback on what others think of our game, I had put together a little google forms to gather feedback, here is what we got:

In terms of interactivity, we got an average of 8/10 stars, and 66.7% of all players voted 8/10 stars

For characters, we got an average of 8/10 stars, and 33.3% of all players voted 10/10

For our handling and representation of GAD and SAD, we got an average of 8/10, and 50% of all players voted 9/10 stars

No bugs were found, just a few missing capitalizations of I and missing font boxed.

Main feedback points were :
- our game is quite long, some people found they lost attention after a while, maybe shorten it down a little?
-Font issues, if possible could we add an accesible option to enable a dyslexia friendly font
- The main character design isn't very strong.

It was really nice to get people to play our game and get some advice on how to make it better, i think getting outsiders perspective is always great as after being engrossed in a project for so long, you do kind of get used to seeing things and may miss little mistakes.

Implementing some changes -

The changes I've made to the game after the feedback has been:

Changing Vixen's name to Lillith, this was something Niamh had asked me to do. I also made sure to go back through the script and capitalize any uncapitalized I's. I also edited the colour pallete of the character's names just to fit their character models better.

I preemptively  added in the hide previous sprite into the code so that none of our finalized sprites will end up overlapping.

Regarding adding in an accessible font there are two options to choose, below i found a really cool free resource to add in a custom accessibility tab to your options setting, I did have a look however and it is very complicated to understand and implement. I think this is a great option for more experienced ren'py users and i love that the people who made this put it out there for free. I've placed a link below as i think it's an excellent resource.

However Ren'py does also have a built in accessibility tab which allows you to do most of the same things, it isn't able to be customized however. As implementing the custom code was a bit far out of my level of understanding, i would urge our players to use Ren'pys built in accessibility option. It works fairly well with our game aside from the main title not fitting on the front page.

This is our game using the open dyslexia font
