Taking my top down sketches i was then able to create some backdrops for scenes, I tried to match the lighting with the overall feel of the rooms, so softer mood lighting for the main character's dorm to imply a quiet, peaceful and maybe somewhat lonely space, Meanwhile the art campus is quite light and bright feeling, still baring those last warm days of summer. As i said in my previous post, i may add some variations on some of these scenes to add to the storytelling aspect of the game, this will certainly be easier for some settings than others but i think as it could really help take our game to the next level it would be something worthwhile spending time on. I created these drawings in Firealpaca with help from the Vanishing point snap tool which allowed me to ensure all of my perspective work was accurate. This is something very important as the game is very heavily reliant on artwork so i wanted to make absolutely sure everything could look to as best as my ability allows. When we implement these into the game, i will send through the versions with a gaussian blur applied, this way the main focus can be shifted to the characters and the backgrounds are just there to provide context to location and to help support the storyline.
