Anatomy Studies and Human musculature
In this lesson we went back over some of the musculature anatomy we learnt last year. We first started out by drawing a scaffold in proportion and from memory trying to block in the muscle groups. I found it fairly easy to find the outline of the muscle groups but when it comes to actually breaking those down into the muscles I struggled quite a bit. Once we had finished we pulled up a reference online so that we could compare it to our sketches and see how accurate we were. It is important to do these studies so that you can get the muscle memory to be able to draw these shapes from imagination. To make a good study you should identify muscle groups from reference.

I then drew over my sketch with the correct anatomy, I noticed I really had some trouble with the legs and glutes, which I already struggled with last year. With that in mind I gathered some more references to draw from and to put most of my focus on the leg muscles from the back and side. I also found I had some trouble with the arm muscles from the side and when the arm is bent so that is something I will work on in the future. I was however very happy with the bottom middle pose as I think the muscles are most accurate on that one.
