Perspective Grids -
In class we went over some perspective grids again just to freshen up our memory. We went over 2 point, 3 point, and introduced how to do 5 point perspective. Below i have included both the sketches we did in lesson and a short Gif explaining how to make the perspective grids. I personally found this exercise to be very helpful, whilst i had been practicing perspective over the summer i feel i definitely needed to have another look at how to do 3 point perspective as it is the one i struggle the most with. Surprisingly i found 5 point perspective to be fairly easy to understand, i feel i definitely will need to practice drawing spaces in this perspective but i understand how the shapes can be created in the fish eye lens.
Task -
For the task we were instructed to draw a 2 point perspective environment based on one of the given briefs. I chose the medieval tavern as my reference and drew a simple bar scene, in this i also drew some objects that have their own perspective, those being the fallen stool, book, and crate beside the bar. We then had to shade the piece in grayscale digitally. I am somewhat happy with how this piece turned out but some things i could improve on next time is 1, using a ruler to get straighter and more accurate lines, and 2, work on my shading skills to make the piece look neater and more appealing. I also want to get better at decorating my scenes as i feel often my environment art looks very sparse and empty so that is something i will have to practice at. But on the whole i think this drawing turned out alright.
