Potted Pinecone [WEEK 11]

Final Textured Asset
Base model

Orthographic

Comparing my orthographic to my final model i did made a few changes in regards to how the petals and the overall "pinecone" section attaches to the vine like stem. I made the petals a little more spread out to make them more readable and added a smaller stem to also make the overall silhouette both more interesting and easy to read. I would say this is one of my favourite models i have made and overall is one of the more interesting shapes. Overall i followed the same technique of using cylinders that have been extruded to get a pretty low poly model. I think if i would have kept my final model as the same as my orthographic, i probably wouldnt have liked it as much and i think a lot of the details that are in the pink top section would have been lost, so i am very glad i made this change.

Gantt Chart -

With this model finished, it brings me up to half of my models being completed roundabout. I think i am still working to my schedule however now that i have finished all of the journal animal sketches, i can quickly get the other 2D assets done so that i can spend the remainder of my time working on 3D assets, i think my next 3D asset i will do will be another one that has clusters of leaves like the Savannah viper, as these are the most time consuming to create.
