Final Concept art [WEEK 16]

 The River -

The second to last piece of concept work that i wanted to make was an environment piece depicting one of the location in the deep jungle this being the jungle river. I started out the drawing on a 1 point perspective grid and drew in the main elements of my drawing, that being the surrounding jungle border and the river in the foreground stretching back into the background. I used the colours from the  map of the Sahara that i made and just neatened up my sketch layer to stand in for line art. compared to many of the other environments in the New Sahara such as the oasis and savannah which are quite bright, the deep jungle in my mind has darker hues to give a bigger sense of danger and isolation, it is much harder to traverse this landscape. I also included one of the animal designs that Faye had made just to give a focal point to the drawing, i tried to use leading lines and contrast of colour within the river, surrounding foliage, and the cliffs leading out towards the peak in the background. I am very happy with this piece and hope it sets the overall mysterious vibe of this setting.

Cedrick and the Verdancy Team -

The next and final drawing i did was just of all the NPCs and the main character Cedrick. I wanted to draw each of the team members designs as i thought they were all so unique and fit the theme of the game so well, although i didnt have a solid use for this piece of art, showing it to the director she suggested we could use this as another postcard design for the loading screens. I really like this idea and i think it's another nice nod to our team as a whole. I also reused a background from earlier in the project with a lens blur over the top just to bring the focus back to the main characters.

Gantt Chart -

This now leaves me with one task left to do, that being my evaluation, and also any unreal help my team might need in class. As a brief summary so far, i feel i have stuck to my schedule pretty well, there were a few bumps in my predicted task delivery but i think i have on a whole stuck to my work on what i wanted to deliver to my team. Looking towards submission which is a few days from now i must admit i feel immensely proud of the work that not just myself but my entire team has produced, i really like our idea and i think we have worked well together to take our game from just talked ideas to visible products and with each new piece of work towards it that my team produces i just get more excited to see everything put together.
