His artwork is a great blend of simple, graphic shapes and high detailing and patterning that draws the viewers attention across the piece. Coupled with his cohesive and atmospheric colour schemes his pieces do an excellent job of not only visually showing an environment but also inferring greater details of the setting such as temperature, time of day and location all by using these simplistic shapes. In an interview with (NOBROW N.d), Lidberg talks about the inspiration and motivation behind his art, stating that "I usually say nature inspires my work" along with "the overwhelming feeling of complexity and the interconnectedness of everything". These themes are certainly visible in pieces such as Concrete Jungle (2013) and ZABA(2014) both of which are much more textural than the pieces displayed previously, but have a darker colour pallet or more bold geometric shapes to provide areas of rest and colour contrast. These pieces also draw back on the previous point of excellent storytelling through pattern and colour, With the darker colour scheme of ZABA(2014) it can be inferred this piece is taking place at night time or at least late evening, almost giving this piece a relaxed and sleepy vibe, yet coupled with the introduction of the more vibrant colours there is still a feeling of the jungle being alive and full of energy, not overwhelming but a comforting level of energy. As well as this most of the shapes present are quite smooth, sweeping and natural looking, from the leaning trees and bushes to even the more rough and textural architectural aspects this piece certainly seems like it takes place in a very sheltered jungle setting. Meanwhile in Concrete Jungle(2013) The brighter colours give more of a chaotic feeling of energy much alike what you would find in urban areas, the piece is full of life yet certainly less organic feeling than the other art piece. It is an almost direct opposite feeling with sharp angles, straight lines and much less texture. The beams almost remind me of steel scaffolding with house plants draped over it. I feel it does an excellent job of capturing the vibrancy of a city without explicitly depicting urban life.
