Cheetah and Fennec fox [WEEK 12]

 
Cheetah -

The cheetah was the very last of the designs that Faye drew that i turned into a journal sketch and of all of the creatures i think this one is by far my favourite. I think the colour pallet she chose in the end works really well and looks overall very pleasing to the eye. I had a little trouble with the anatomy, especially trying to make the more fluffy neck look believable, all in all though i am very happy with this design and i honestly really enjoyed making these creatures.

Fennec Fox -

For the fennec fox I did come across a bit of a setback in which, after i had finished the original black and white render i went to make a layer above it which i could use as an alpha lock for the colours. When sorting out my layers i accidentally merged the alpha lock layer and the rendering layer, as this happened my software autosaved and i was unable to undo this merge, i neglected to save the file previously, so all in all i lost two hours of work and had to restart :(. This was however somewhat beneficial because i am much happier with the final rendering and so although it did set me back in my schedule a bit, it was still something i was able to overcome. I have also learned that saving my files more often is a necessity to avoid issues like this happening in the future.

Gantt Chart -

With these two drawings completed i can mark the journal animal sketches as being complete, i am still on track with only spending a total of 6 days on these sketches so i think i should be able to carry on as i have predicted. My next steps are to start the 2D plant sketches as my main priority, i would like to get at least 15 of these done, as well as this i will be trying to put out a few more 3D models over these next couple of weeks.
