DEVLOG 6- Trello Deadlines

Using my Gantt chart as reference, I added some deadlines onto my Trello board and re-formatted it to make it more readable. It is now separated by task as opposed to the To do/Doing/Done format.

 After importing my model into Zbrush as a new tool, I split the sections of my model up into different polygroups so that I could isolate certain areas to add detail to without other parts of the model getting in the way. For example, I combined legs and arms on separate body groups [dynameshing them to make them smooth] so that I could add in the wrinkles without the neck and waist fluff getting in the way. I usually start at a lower poly count then work my way up adding details with higher poly counts later on so that I can easily get big details down first. You can see this especially on the trousers, below you can see the larger details like the knees and the big wrinkles, which I will later smooth and refine further down the line. This technique is also similar to how I made the neck fluff. The base mesh I made on maya had the very rough, low-poly shape of the fluff which I then built upon in ZBrush with the Move tool. DEVLOG 3 - Orthographics and references

 To create my orthographic i first found a mm to inches ruler on google to scale my model to the correct height, I then sketched in the base at the correct diameter in relation to my figure. I did this so that when creating my base in maya or zbrush i would be able to build everything in the correct scale then only have to adjust the overall size in chitubox later as opposed to having to scale the base and figure separately. I had an idea whilst creating the orthographic that i might be able to use a VDM in Zbrush to create some texture on the base of my model, i found a free texture of cracked ground on Pexels and i thought using something like this to quickly add texture would be really cool. I also didn't get to use VDMs much last year, so this is just even more practice to learn from my previous mistakes. MPG brief - Game Artist Brief

Brief- Deadline: 21st November 2025 Of the two briefs given to us, I'm going to be doing the Realistic Assault rifle prop. My reason for choosing this brief is that I feel more confident with hard surface modelling than some of the organic shapes in the room brief. I think this will allow me to challenge myself whilst also not throwing myself entirely into the deep end and risking not getting the project finished on time. Some important details to note about this brief: Poly budget - 30k - 35k Texture size - 3 x 2k pbr based udims Gathering references- Looking at different kinds of assault rifles, I think that this gun most closely resembles an AK-103 with a scope attachment on top. With this in mind, I had a look at some images of this kind of gun mixed with AK-47's and zoom ins of clear magazines and scopes.
