Professional Development - Creating my Artstation and LinkedIn

 My portfolio sites -

My Artstation page will serve as my main "Curated" Portfolio that I will send to employers. It is different to my Instagram as I don't routinely update my Artstation with every new piece I draw, I want to keep it as only my very best work.

I also like how Artstation feels a bit more professional, Once I have made one I will be sure to upload my CV onto my artstation as well as link any social media I have so that it is easy to find all of my work.

Explaining my Portfolio choices -

Below, I will list what each of my art pieces are titled and a little about why I included them in my portfolio.

1 - "Verdancy"
Project: Verdancy by Hearthvalley & Lunamoth
An example of a front cover illustration in a style inspired by Micah Lidberg, showcasing my role as art director and a general demonstration of my compositional skills.

2 - "Slip! Repainted"
Project: Slip! Repainted by Hearthvalley
Another front cover, this time in my main art style. Shows a clear difference between my simpler lineless style to my highly rendered art style.

3 - "Elysium: Seraph Protocol - Liure Vault Map"
Project: Elysium: Seraph Protocol by Hearthvalley
An example of my map making skills for a tabletop roleplaying game. Map is built for a quick-start race against the clock game and so the map has movement squares drawn into the tiled appearance of the vault.

4 - "Minerva Shuttles - Book art"
Project: Minerva Transspacial Shuttles - Not yet released
More examples of illustrations specifically made for a book, these are page banners and splash pages utilizing a retro/iconographic style.

5 - "Minerva Shuttles - Environment art"
Project: Minerva Transspacial Shuttles - Not yet released
Focus on how environment art looks in my art style. A more conceptual and rough approach as opposed to more polished artworks.

6 - "Elysium - Aruykeri and Liure Environments"
Project: Elysium: Seraph Protocol by Hearthvalley
Similar to the prior set of images but showcasing my graphic novel style as seen within Elysium. Also showcases some 3D models I built for the project.

7 - "Princess Lakme of Tabula Rasa"
Project: Pilgrims - Not yet released
Clothing study, I was particularly proud of the dress on this one and thought it would be a good drawing to showcase. Also leans more towards the fantasy genre that is very prevalent within TTRPGS,

8 - "Pilgrims: Character concepts"
Project: Pilgrims - Not yet released
Some character concepts re-imagining D&D races in my art style, also another example of my work in the fantasy genre.

9 - "Hotel Bunga - Grug the Stylish"
Project: Hotel Bunga - Not yet released
The design process for artwork for a card game I am creating. This post shows the entire process from silhouette to final card design.

10 - "Hotel Bunga - Gremmie the Thumper"
Project: Hotel Bunga - Not yet released
The same as the previous post but for a card with writing.

11 - "Elysium: Seraph Protocol - Esther"
Project: Elysium: Seraph Protocol by Hearthvalley
One of my favourite monsters I have designed, I feel this showcases my horror centered style well.

12 - "Slip: Repainted - Monsters"
Project: Slip! Repainted by Hearthvalley
A more family friendly approach to creature design showing my ability to cover both more mature and family friendly themes.

13 - "Desoter - The Ancient Vault"
Project: Desoter by Hearthvalley
A splash piece I am particularly proud of, showcases more hard surface subjects and environment art.

14 - "Slip repainted - Cymarillo and Voyenix"
Project: Slip! Repainted by Hearthvalley
Lighting practice and demonstration of multiple subjects within a scene.

15 - "Desoter - Aphex in the sand"
Project: Desoter by Hearthvalley
Another splash piece I was particularly proud of. Places more focus on the unique character design of Aphex.

16 - "Princess Andrecka - The Rotten Princess of the Woodlands"
Project: MPG Brief by Kenny Heath
Most recent Client brief I did, shows the entire process of creating the princess from thumbnails to final concept. More of a concept piece than a full illustration.

17 - "Minerva Shuttles Concept art"
Project: Minerva Transspacial Shuttles - Not yet released
Demonstration of my human character designs and asset concepts. Showcases a 3D model I created for this project.

18 - "Verdancy - Flora"
Project: Verdancy by Hearthvalley & Lunamoth
Another example of asset design in a highly stylized manner. Much like the first drawing, it showcases my role as art director for this project.

As you can see, I tried to include artwork that was ONLY relevant to Tabletop games I have created to keep my portfolio in line with the job role I wish to do. With that being said, I purposefully included a wide range of topics in this artwork to demonstrate the flexibility of my role as an artist.

Other Portfolios -

My Instagram portfolios are updated with most of the recent art I create, this allows me to build a following and network as well as show the progression of my work over time. I try to post at least twice a week to at least one of my Instagram accounts to ensure I keep my followers engaged. I would like to make more reels however due to how busy I am at the moment it is just not feasible to make quality reels every day.

I keep my personal and business Instagrams separate to not confuse my followers. My personal account contains artwork not directly linked to any games posted on the itch.io whereas the business Instagram only posts work relating to one of our IPs.

My Formal CV site -

For my main formal CV hosting site, I chose LinkedIn as this seems the most widely used by professionals. On my account I made sure to fill out my about me section, my skills and the projects I built those skills in to demonstrate to employers my abilities, and my relevant educational certifications [I did not feel the need to include my GCSE subjects on here as they contribute very little towards the job I want to do]. I currently do not have any official work experience, but I may add my short experience as an events employee from my work at my parent's meadery to help stand out a little more [I mostly assisted them at markets and have also ran a few stalls of my own for my own business so i do think that it is relevant information].

Once I have made my formal CV file I will also attach it to my LinkedIn Profile. I might also post some stuff on my LinkedIn regarding projects I am working on however I am hesitant to do this as I am not sure the correct manner to post on this platform.

Networking -

On top of this, I have located two groups which may prove very helpful to me in the future. The young creatives Nottingham group and the connecting Notts group both aim to support creatives in the Nottinghamshire area and highlight networking opportunities in the local area. I think these will both be very beneficial to me and I may even consider looking into submitting something to the Young Creatives Nottingham award as this would look great on a CV.
