Hands Recap
In this lesson we did a recap on hand anatomy and overall proportion of the fingers. We utilized this technique of using 6 lines to separate the hand up into a trapezium shape then using the shorter edge to add on the thumb mass. On top of this we looked at upwards and downwards curves of that trapezium shape and how that will influence where the fingers will go. I personally found this method really difficult to get the hang of, i usually construct my hands out of spheres and look at the general shape of the fingers and negative space to get my spacing correct, i think this trapezoid technique is very useful however in understanding the segments of the fingers. Below I did a few studies of hands to further my understanding of a range of open, closed and dynamic hands. I found that open hands are much easier to draw than closed hands but i tried to break down the fists into base shapes that i could then break up into the finger shapes.
