Scene 1 Unpacking items from boxes

MC: Memories of home, don’t even know why I even brought them. 

I wanted a fresh start. That being said, where should i start; with my clothes or my desk.

 - THIS ACTS AS THE FIRST DECISION YOU MAKE INTRODUCING YOU TO THE MECHANICS OF THE GAME- it is a harmless decision.

SET UP WARDROBE AND DESK ADDING A DIARY 

CHARACTER WALKS INTO THE COMMUNAL AREA

Roomie[placeholder]: Hey its your first day right i’m _______ What’s your name?

MC: My name is [Type name here]

Roomie[placeholder]: My room is the one just across from yours, its nice to meet you.

MC: Nice to meet you too. Well i’ll see you later, I still need some time to adjust and fully unpack.

Roomie[placeholder]: Cool take your time. Oh! Before you go, do ya want somethin’ to eat? I didn't realise how much i made and i know i’m not gonna eat it all.

-CHOICE 2-

-Nah i’m not hungry right now maybe later, thanks for offering though.-

-Sure, why not thanks for offering

MC goes back to room to finish unpacking day ends.

MC wakes up. Ugh an early start today,

I guess I will get used to these early mornings. At least I’ve got a pretty exciting day today. I’m fairly nervous to meet new people but I feel excited at the same time, as long as I can make one friend I’ll feel satisfied. 

it doesn’t help that I slept late last night. Do I even want to get up? What if this first class goes awful, I’m not ready to meet new people. What if I make a bad impression and end up alone? (sighs) 

well I guess either way I should get up

MC gets out of bed to get ready for class. I don’t even know if I have anything to eat, I should have gone shopping yesterday.

Well I guess it’s good I got up earlier than my alarm, maybe I can grab a snack on my way to class.

It’s too bad I don’t have time to get something to eat on the way there.

Eventually, MC makes it to class but just barely on time. (Panting) Thank goodness I made it in time, 

I'm glad I managed to get a quick sandwich on the way!

who knows what the teacher would think if I were late to an induction! Well I guess it’s time to find a seat. 

CHOICE  - Sits alone or Sit with the popular girls. 

ALONE

I guess somethings never change huh. 

At least I will get more time to focus on the work instead of talking to people.

This is going to be a boring few years if I can’t make any friends.

WITH POPULAR GIRLS

Oh my gosh why on Earth did I choose to sit here, I am so nervous.

Come on (MC name), say something to them! Introduce yourself at least!

They're gonna think I’m so weird for sitting here, what was I thinking! 

Popular girl turns to MC Oh hi, I didn’t notice you sat there (slight nervous laugh) 

MC nervously Oh my bad! Anyway it’s nice to meet you, my name is (MC Name).

I’m (Popular girl name), and don’t worry about it I was just surprised aha.

MC awkwardly stares

PG: Anyway what’s your name?

MC: Oh me? Uh my names (MC Name). 

PG: (MC Name) huh? That’s a nice name. I’m (popular girl name), It’s nice to meet you.

MC Nervously blushing Oh yeah aha it’s nice to meet you too.

The Teacher loudly but not aggressively Alright class! It is great to see you all here on time. Im hoping you are all ready for this years class but for today we will just be introducing ourselves and the course. 

My name is Mr. (name) and I will be your teacher for this year. I am a fair man who will try and push you to do your best. I want each of you to achieve the best you can. 

Now we are going to go round and introduce ourselves to the class. Would anyone like to go first?

MC stands up nervously uhm hi my name is (MC Name), 

I enjoy playing games and listening to music, one of my favourite games is (Game Name). 

MC notices another students face light up with the mention of the game. 

Teacher: Great! Thank you (MC). We will go round carrying on with you. Teacher points at popular girl.

and I’m looking forward to working with you all this year. 

Teacher jokingly Come on is that it? Tell us something about yourself (MC)!

Looking scared Oh! Uhh one of my favourite games is (Game Name).

MC notices another students face light up with the mention of the game. 

WAIT

Popular girl goes first, next it goes round your table going through the Popular girls friends until its your turn.

Oh no, they all seem so cool. I’m gonna look like such a loser in front of them.

Teacher pointing at MC Right! Your next! 

MC stands up nervously uhm hi my name is (MC Name), 

Stuttering throughout I enjoy playing games and listening to music, one of my favourite games is (Game Name). 

MC notices another students face light up with the mention of the game. 

Teacher: Great! Thank you (MC). We will go round carrying on with you. Teacher points at popular girl.

Time passes to the end of class Okay that seems to be everyone introduced, with that done I’ll let you all leave early to go for lunch.

In the cafeteria MC looks around the crowded hall Time to find a place to sit I guess.

CHOICE - Sit with Popular girl group or Sit alone

Sit with popular girl group

MC walks over to popular girls table Uhh hi is there any chance I could sit with you guys?

Surprised Popular girl replies Oh! Uhh sure! Come sit next to me here. 

MC awkwardly sits down

I can’t believe they said yes! Maybe I’ve been overthinking how I come across or maybe they feel sorry for me? Either way I should try and make some conversation with them.

That was so awkward what was I thinking! I barely even know them! They probably think I’m lonely and a loser. 

PG: So (MC) have you heard about that party happening on Friday? I heard everyone in class is going.

Oh no I had no idea, are you going?

PG: Of course I am, we all are. I’m guessing you’ll be coming too?

Of course! (what have I just signed myself up for)

Oh uh yes sure (I should seem more willing to go if I want them to go with me).

Great! I expect to see you there Popular girl walks of with a slight wave

Back at flat talking to flat mate.

Wow so the popular girl invited you herself? Way to go (MC)! 

Well it wasn’t exactly like that aha but still I’m excited. You’ll have to help me prepare!

Don’t worry, I’ll get you all ready for the party, we can even go together if you’d like

Wednesday : Written By Kenny

Scene : The main character heads to class, this is the class where the project this year is introduced, it is a group project, and a tough one at that.

Desaturated background with gaussian blur, makes the scene look hazy, maybe add some shifting effects to the screen to infer walking. Mc is walking through the school, ambient sounds of people talking in the background

MC monologue:

Damn, I’m really not feeling these early classes… they’re probably going to assign our first project today, I hope it’s not too difficult.

Fade to the classroom scene, ambient talking fades in too, MC is faced with the decision of where to sit once again

MC sits down

IF THE MAIN CHARACTER CHOSE TO SIT WITH THE POPULAR GIRLS THE DAY PRIOR :

PG - Oh hey MC! Come sit with us!

MC - Are you sure? I don’t want to bother you

PG - Don’t be silly! You’re more than welcome to sit with us

Teacher stands at the front of the class, they explain the project is going to be a collaborative effort in which each member of the team must contribute their own work to the greater project. The teacher shows the module, it is a lot of work, and covers a lot of topics the MC doesn't feel overly confident in.

TE - Ok it seems everyone has found a group, i think just for times sake i’ll just keep you in the groups you're in.

PG - I’m so glad you joined our group, i checked out your insta last night you're so talented! We’re going to do so well with this project

MC - ah… thank you that's so nice to say…

[continue to main plot]

IF THE MAIN CHARACTER CHOSE TO SIT ALONE THE DAY PRIOR :

MC sits with some people who are already in a group, talking to one another about what the project might be about. As the MC sits down someone in the group turns to them.

NPC - Hey man, sorry that seat is already taken my friend has just gone to get a drink

MC - Im so sorry… Sorry i’ll just wait for the teacher to assign me a seat 

NPC - yeah its alright, sorry mate.

MC monologue:

Maybe i should have chosen to sit with someone yesterday… i bet i look like a right idiot just standing around… No… no this is better… i would have clearly made a fool of myself, at least the teacher can give me a group.

MC - Oh.. uh… no sorry

TE - Right then well PG’s group is one member short so i guess you’ll go there, alright?

MC monologue:

Oh god not her group, theyre going to rip me to shreds im going to make such a fool of myself. What if they give me the director role… i cant direct people! Im going to let them all down and their low grade will be all my fault

[The main character goes silent, staring and shaking a little]

TE - MC?. Your group is waiting….

 MC - Sorry! Sorry sir!...

MC hurriedly joins the group

[continue to main plot]

Main Plot

The teacher continues to talk about the project, assigning each member of the team to a certain role. The MC gets assigned as the art lead, which they do feel slightly more confident doing, but still feel stressed that so much is their realm to control.

TE - And remember- this project relies on ALL members of the team to pull their weight, you need to work together and evidence your collaborative efforts.

The class packs up and the MC walks out into the arts sector, back to their dorm, On the way they meet back up with the popular girl.

PG - i was just thinking just so we can get a head start on this project, would you be alright doing some sketches for the end of this week? Me and [populargirlfriend] will be working on some written work so it would really help out.

Option 1: Monologue : feasibly…. I could probably get those sketches done but it would probably mean i wouldnt have much time  to prepare for the party… i really want to go but…. I dont want to go looking like a mess…Oh well, my team needs me and so ill do it! [+2 friendship]

Option 2:  Monologue : feasibly…. I could probably get those sketches done but it would probably mean i wouldnt have much time  to prepare for the party… i really want to go but…. Option 4: This week?! No way, i have plans and im NOT missing them just to get Slightly ahead… Nope.[-2 friendship]

PG - Alright, well let me know if you get those sketches done, you still coming to the party?

MC leaves before they can answer PG, heading back to their dorm, Roommate is in the shared space with some friends, theyre making food and laughing, generally having a nice time. Feeling a bit fried from the project assignment, MC goes into their dorm and boots up their PC to send a message to their friend.

MC - Hey man, You online?

CF- Yeah! Just got off work hbu?

MC- just finished class… new project. Im kinda dreading it. I got assigned as the 2D lead, i feel like its so much responsibility on my head and i just don’t want to disappoint people. I literally feel sick having this much to do.

CF - Dude, the project has LITERALLY just started, don’t stress yourself out with it! Everyone is in the same boat :) 

MC- Sorry… I just don’t want to mess anything up…. I Hope youre ok, i miss you.

MC - logs off

ENDINGS -

Accepted the task of drawing the sketches -

MC stays up late working on some sketches, theyre ok, somewhat rushed. The mc worries that they aren’t going to be good enough, they end up tossing the notebook aside and going to bed frustrated. The sketches are done, but are they good enough?

Declined the task of drawing the sketches -

MC waits until the roommate is out of the kitchen, they feel drained from the day and just throw together some quick food and head back to their dorm. After eating, they head into bed and scroll on instagram for a while, seeing everyone else out having fun makes them feel a little down, they arent as stressed about the day, but feel like they let their team down.

Thursday : Written By Niamh

Scene

The Main Character does not have any lessons today and will be planning their outfit for the Party from their current wardrobe. During this they will be on call with their childhood friend.

MC = Main character 

CF = Childhood Friend

Morning

(MC wakes up and checks phone for time)

Ugh… What time is it?

(Less anxious options from previous day: Early Wake Up)

Oh it’s 8:30 am

nice! Guess I’ll have a cheeky lay in

I wonder what I should have for breakfast

(checks messages)

Oh … CF still hasn't responded to me

That’s okay, knowing CF I bet they’re still asleep

…

I’ll send another message and go shower for the day

(MC messages) 

Guess who woke up nice and early for once 😌

Not YOU

(MC goes for a shower)

Omg! It’s 1:00 pm

Ugh how could I let myself sleep this long

What should I even do with the rest of the day, I feel so gross

And then go shower to distract myself :D

(MC messages) 

OMG I’ve only just woken up 😣 having a crisis

(MC goes for a shower)

(MC returns from shower and checks phone)

Hmm I’m sure they’re just busy and I’m overthinking

(Incoming Message from roommate)

Hey! You awake yet? 

I bet you haven’t had any breakfast silly

Since you had quite a stressful day yesterday

You can have some of my toasted waffles

I know they’re your fave ;3

*sends waffle gif*

(MC Chuckles)

They’re so kind

 I would love some waffles right now

I’d feel bad taking their food though

(MC messages back)

Option 1: Haha yea I’m awake, waffles would be so nice thank you <3 I’ll treat you to something yummy in return! (+4 Friendship)

(MC returns to room after eating breakfast and checks phone)

(MC chuckles and rings CF)

Note: if we further made the game the player could have a choice to ring now or to explore the room and interact with the room mate some more but for now will ring directly soon after

Choosing an Outfit

This will be a small mini game where the player can select certain outfits and place them on the MC

CF (while on the phone) will give certain reactions to each outfit until there’s one outfit that is approved. 

The final outfit will always be the same

The outfit will consist of 4 Elements

(If the player picks an option for all elements thats not a part of the final outfit - the CF will give a negative reaction)

Aftermath

Notes and Ideas:

MC thanks CF for helping out

MC expresses their nervousness and second thoughts about the party

CF will attempt to help by giving them some confidence - this can either help out or freak MC out even more

They talk about the lack of communication these days and feel distant

Depending on how MC approaches this CF could feel attacked and they have an “argument”

Distance only increases

Can effect MC final decision on whether to go to the party

WIll have end of day interaction with flatmate about how the day was

Here the flatmate can help give advice and confidence if MC would like it

Friday : Written By Pantelis

Friday scene starts with the MC finishing class and walking towards the dorms along with the roommate. 

They constantly checking up the phone as they expect a text message from the childhood best friend waiting for advice for the upcoming party that afternoon 

They see that there is no answer or missed call in the notifications 

RM: The class today was so Frustrating. Mr. ( name to be decided) can be very harsh with us sometimes!

MC: Yeah I know he has too many expectations from first years and I don’t know why.

RM: It might be because he is getting old and cranky! ( they both giggle) 

RM: Oh look it's the PG and her friends! They are coming this way!

The MC becomes very anxious and goes a bit pale as the PG approaches them. 

MC: (thinking) what Im going to say to her? Will I stutter? Can I form actual words and not gibberish? 

PG approaches the MC and puts her hand on the MC shoulder.MC becomes more anxious and they try to keep their posture straight. 

PG: hey MC how are you? So are you coming to the party tonight? Its going to be really fun everyone’s going to be there. 

MC: Um um, I, I, I don’t know…. May.. Maybe, I guess ( thinking: OH MY GOD I DID IT AGAIN I LET MY ANXIETY GET THE BEST OF ME ). 

PG: Oh I see.. It will be a shame for you not to be there. I guess I might see you tonight then (winks with a smile and walks away) 

The rest of the friend group mocks the MC a bit imitating his stutter as they do not understand why the PG likes the  MC so much. They think of them as a loser. 

Going forward the MC and the RM get to their room and as soon as they get into the room MC freaks out because he could not speak properly with the PG and goes on a rumble. 

MC: Why? Why do I stutter so much whenever I get anxious? I can’t I can’t do this anymore. I really like this girl and whenever I'm around her every inch of my body freezes and my voice is shaking like a shitting dog. I knew I could not do this I knew it. University is not for me. The outside world is not for me. I don't even know what I'm doing here. Im going to stay in the room and hide from everything and from everyone! Its the only way Im going to survive!

RM: you know youre doing it again. You’re letting fear and anxiety get the best of you! there is a girl. A beautiful girl that likes you and she seems genuinely interested in you and your reaction is to hide from the world? It does not make any sense. She sees something in you as I do I. you are a very kind person with good intentions about everyone. You might be a bit anxious all the time but that’s part of your charm not your whole being!

MC phone rings. They pick up the phone. Its the CBF returning their calls 

CBF: Hey sorry I missed your calls and your texts these past 2 day have been a mess. How are you? What's on your mind? 

MC: The PG came to me and asked me if I was going to the party tonight. 

CBF: and? What did you say?!

MC: I barely got 2 words out of my mouth. I froze and went pale again. I could not speak like an ordinary person and I seemed like a loser again and again. I cannot do this anymore. Uni is not for me, I will lock myself into the room tonight. I'm not going anywhere. 

CBF: I see.. So you got 2 choices. I understand that you freaked out about your interaction with her but know that the way you acted is completely normal. If a beautiful girl that i liked came up to me and touched my shoulder at the same time that she was asking me if she was going to see me at the party tonight, I would stutter as well. You like her its natural to feel dizzy and freeze as soon as you see her do not freak out bout that.

Choice number one: you stay in the room tonight by yourself miserable and thinking that the outside world is not for you and most probably cry yourself to sleep… or.. 

Choice number two: you find the courage to go to the party tonight. You get dressed with the new outfit you bought the other day and you will look dashing. And you will go talk to this beautiful girl that you like! She is like any other person. When you talk to her image you are talking to me. Having anxiety I understand, Its really hard to live with that or overcome it, but being locked at home tonight in a room alone and miserable? That's a choice! Choose which MC you want to be tonight? The courageous one that is going to get to the girl? Or the miserable one?
