Hunterian Trip Photographs and Observational Drawings

[[WARNING : This post will contain photographs of Wet specimens of humans parts and Animals]

On Tuesday we took a trip to London to visit the Hunterian Museum, Whilst there I decided to draw some of the specimens that were on display and were of interest to me. I was only able to sketch a few of the exhibits as it was quite busy and although i was having a nice time i felt very overwhelmed and as such I wasn't able to draw as much as i would have liked to. Some of my favourite exhibits were the big Asian elephant brain right at the very front [ I had no idea they were so big, it was very fascinating to see all the lobes of the brain and all the individual wrinkles], The Hippo skull [It had an almost alien like appearance and although i had seen photos of one before it was cool to see one in person], and the monkey head. I wasn't able to draw a lot of the exhibits in the main hall but I did manage to get a lot of photos of which i would like to use as reference for some art in the future, I like drawing a lot of anatomical based things in my own time and i think analyzing the textures on some of these specimens could really be helpful. We also stopped by Covent Gardens, Cleopatra's Needle, Walked by the Thames and stopped in at forbidden planet [which was cool just very very very busy and so I mostly just had a quick mooch around and went back outside because it was quite hot in there].

Here is the collection of photographs I took on the trip :)

Just to note I did not post any of the photographs I took of any of the human remains out of respect for the individuals. All of the photographs are either animal remains or parts from humans that presumably did not involve death [The two images are of Human Placentas] with the exception of the femur.

Overall I had a really nice time:)) it was nice to get out and about and see some pretty cool stuff i probably wouldnt have seen before, and the weather was nice so it was actually quite pleasant to walk around London :)) I'm very glad I went on this trip
