Capstone Project - Bedroom Furniture Cards continued [PART 2]

 Woofer Rug -

The woofer rug was the next of the furniture items to be designed. I took inspiration from gremmie's wolf hood and re-imagined it as a rug. I couldn't decide on which looked better, the eyes being open or the eyes being Xs like in gremmie's employee card however I ultimately chose the open eyes as I thought not only did it make the eyes more visible, but was also less morbid than the X eyes.
Here is how it looks on the final card, I adjusted the arm position so that it fit better with the perspective of the scene. I want all the cards to line up and make sense in a scene together, so that is why i chose not to have the rug centered and instead place it on the ground. This will be demonstrated later on in this post.

Tusk Nightstand -

The tusk nightstand re-uses some materials from the shiny stone with the tusk decals coming from the back of the "mirror" section. I originally designed 3 different plain tables however I thought it would be more interesting to add some ornaments to make the table feel more visually interesting. As I struggle with drawing hard surface items in perspective [especially with fairly complex designs], I built my design in maya then drew over the top of it.

I ended up choosing design number 3, I liked the sharpness of the stone texture and thought it fit well with both the shiny stone and geode bed, having a consistent theme throughout all elements of the bedroom. Here is how this looks on my card mockup:

And here is how all 4 cards line up, you can see here that they all make a scene when put together. I think this just adds a fun little touch to the game and fits well with the decorating themes.

Trello -

This now means that a quarter of my furniture cards are complete, Ideally I would like to get another 4 completed next week to bring my total up to 8/16 cards. If i can successfully get all 16 cards done by the end of the month I will be in a good position to get everything done by the deadline. As I have most of my designs thumbnailed already on the prototype cards, I think making the final designs should take no more than 2 days per 4 cards, meaning i could easily get all the furniture designs done in the next two weeks. I am feeling very confident about this project and have a lot of ideas for how to improve the uniqueness of my game's art style.
