Researching Chosen Role, Industry Connections, Future Considerations (LO1, LO4)
· A personal reflection on your chosen role within the Games Industry (UI Artist, Concept Artist, 3D Environment Artist, Technical Artist, etc.).
· Exploration of why this role appeals to you, what skills are required and how your current strengths and weaknesses align with it. Add consideration for long-term ambitions.
- Analysis of how to build meaningful industry connections such as networking events, LinkedIn, Discord communities, Art Challenges, Game Jams, volunteering and Modding. Attending conferences (e.g. EGX, Develop: Brighton, GDC).
· Evidence of Industry Contact such as screenshots, LinkedIn interactions/following, events you’re going to, industry meets or feedback from professionals.
· Consideration of future industry trends affecting your role e.g. nanite workflows, AI tools, outsourcing etc.
· Reflect on how everything may shape your career path and professional development.
Research and Analysis into Your Chosen Artistic Direction (LO2)
· Research into your specific artistic direction or certain niche and interest (e.g. indie dev, tabletop, character concept art, hard‑surface modelling, environment art).
· Analysis of job roles connected to this direction (screenshots, sources), including role responsibilities, required software proficiency, common pipelines and examples from real studios.
· Examination of how this direction influences your own work style choices, workflows, inspirations.
· Discuss how current industry expectations impact your artistic decisions, portfolio development, and long‑term career path.
Portfolio (Covers LO3, LO4, LO5, LO6)
· Briefly detail how your portfolio was developed, why you picked a certain site/format and how you selected pieces.

· Reasons for rejecting pieces lack of polish, outdated work, inconsistency of style and direction, or mismatch with industry expectations?

o Demonstration of technical competency
o Responsiveness to industry feedback

4. Social media, Branding – Professional and Design CVs

· A professionally designed CV and a creatively design‑focused CV.
· Reflection on your branding choices accessibility, layout, colour palette, typography, tone of voice.

5. Tutor – Work-Like Appraisals, Career Plan Goal Setting, Project Management

· Evidence of work‑like appraisals with your tutor:
o Meeting summaries, feedback notes, skills assessments and action points.
· Documentation of goals set during those sessions short-long term.
· Project management evidence such as Gantt charts, Trello boards, planning documents, milestone tracking, etc
o Miro / Hack n Plan are great alternative options.
· A detailed career plan, including:
o The roles you’re aiming for
o Where you want your career to develop
o Skills you need to improve
o The methods and tools you’ll use (courses, practice workflows, networking, mentorships, software learning)
o Personal goals and the steps required to achieve them.
