Capstone Project: Bung the Sneaky
Thumbnails:
My vision for Bung the Sneaky would be combining the look of either a 1960s greaser or general criminal character with the caveman aesthetic. With this in mind i either wanted to give him a leather jacket or vest made of fur or lean more into the burglar look and give him a mask and a big satchel. When doing my thumbnails although I really liked the look of the "greaser inspired" outfits I thought the burglar caveman was infinitely more funny and so I decided to go down that route for the final design.
I also draped him with a lot of stolen jewellery just to add more to his thief personality.
Feedback:
Before making my final design I did ask my peers on what their favourite designs were, which they both agreed that the more burglar inspired look was the best of all the designs. I think as well as my game is aimed towards younger children, the burglar outfit will make him more identifiable as a criminal.
I decided to go with Thylacine fur again to mimic the look of a stripy burglar shirt, its a subtle detail but i think it adds a lot to his outfit.
Final card:
For the final pose I had such a strong idea of what I wanted, I think showing him mid steal would not only make it clear on his card of what he does, but would also be quite amusing. For this reason I put him in a really stooped pose like he is carrying a very heavy load of stolen goods and a fancy necklace in his hand.
Here's how this pose looks coloured in, I added more bracelets to his arms to add a bit more interest to his outfit and vary the shape hierarchy a bit. Theyre just very simple pearl beaded bracelets to match with the large necklace in his hand.
I'm quite happy with Bung's face variation, its subtle but he has stronger cheekbones and an underbite when compared to Klove, its a subtle difference but I wanted to make sure each character looked unique even in a simple art style.

This now means I am half way through designing the employees! I'm feeling very confident that I can get all 3 remaining designs complete by next week and I should be able to move onto making the action cards before the end of this term. I have been looking at the remaining assets and the amount of time I have left for this project and i MAY be able to make an instruction manual and box art too, this is sort of a stretch goal for me, if I don't get it done by the deadline that's absolutely fine as that wasn't really my main focus for this final project, but if I could get it done that would be great!.
I think I will get a physical copy of my game produced for the showcase as I think it will not only look good to see all my cards on physical assets, but it would also be good to showcase how my game actually plays. Obviously this depends on how long the cards would take to print but this is a consideration I will think about closer to when I have all my assets completed.
