Capstone Project: Employee Mood boards
Card Prototypes:
Aside from Gremmie the Thumpers, there are still 5 employee cards that I need to create. Below are the prototype cards of which I will also assign relevant cave attribute traits to.
Klove the Brambler: Warmth
Klove the Brambler will have a very outdoorsy appearance, taking inspiration from gardening outfits, foraging gear and bohemian clothing. I really want to try to incorporate the clawed gardening gloves into their design as I think they are very cool. Also, like with most of the Bunga characters, Klove will have a unique hat [This wasn't something i intended to be a common theme but I noticed a lot of the Bunga characters have some form of unique headwear].
Bung the Sneaky: Affordability
I thought it would be fun to design Bung the Sneaky around the style of a 1960's greaser, with his outfit consisting of pelts made into leather jackets or vests and with a slicked back hairstyle. I think I also want to lean more into that rough looking caveman vibe for him to make him seem somewhat intimidating. His job is to be a criminal so I want him to look like he would get up to trouble.
Maarsha the Needler: Trendiness
For Maarsha, I want to transfer real world upholstery tools into the hotel bunga style, reimagining what they might look like if a caveman would have made them. I also think giving her a 1940's look would also make her design more interesting, mostly because I want to incorporate a headscarf into her outfit.
Rok the Gatherer: Comfort
Rok the gatherer's outfit will fall somewhere in-between the flora themes and materials of Klove and the fauna details of Gremmie the thumper, this is in reference to how Rok is a hunter gatherer and thus does both the job of hunting animals and foraging for flora. I think of all my designs, Rok's design will be most similar to accurate depictions of Neanderthals.
Krabb the lookout: Safety
Finally, in Krabb's prototype card I drew him holding up a pair of binoculars which gave me the vibe of an explorer or traveller. For this reason I want to emulate that 19th century explorer look in his design. I also thought about putting him in a ghillie suit to help him hide amongst the bushes when watching over the player's cave.

With the mood boards complete, I will use these to help create thumbnail sheets and final designs for each of the remaining employees. I anticipate this to take around 2 weeks to complete which will allow me to move onto the final 16 action cards that I will work on throughout the easter holidays. I think this process will be much faster than the client cards as I now have a better understanding of how the hotel Bunga art style looks and can compare my designs to my client cards to ensure they all stick within the style of the game.
