One More Week Discord Contributions [WEEK 18]

Here is a compilation of some of my personal contributions to our group discord, it is to note i have not included all of the discussions we have had and i have tried to include only relevant responses [my team have definitely posted more messages than this but they revolve around other aspects not relating the the subject i have screenclipped, just for the sake of this blogpost not being unreasonably long, i will only cover the main discussion points from throughout this project.] Here is our channel list #General Here I was asking my team for what backgrounds they required for their individual parts of the script, we never ended up having storyboards for all of us, and instead i had to read through the entire script which did give me some conflicting answers for how many backgrounds i needed. After a meeting with my team, we resolved this issue and got everything down in a more concrete fashion. I put together these channels Renpy - Contains important information and links to t...

Life Drawing 5

1 Minute Warmup Sketches - This week's life drawing session we focused on material and folds on the human figure, the model came in wearing a quite loose fitting dress along with a scarf so that we could study the folds of the fabric. For our 1 minute sketches i focused only on the visible folds in the fabric, sketching them out and then refining the human form a little more afterwards. I feel like this worked somewhat well and i especially like the first sketch on the first image, the first sketch on the second image, and the second sketch on the third image. I think i captured the poses best in these sketches and i like how interesting the folds were, it was fairly easy to identify the pinch points on these poses too. Not having to focus on the full figure was also much less stressful in only 1 minute. 3 Minute Sketches - Moving onto the 3 minute sketches i found some of these quite challenging, having the most trouble with the reclined/lying down poses. As stated before this i...

Maya Rigging part 2 [The leg Controls]

-

Following on from last lesson we first covered how to create controls that will be used to help move our character rig. To start out we need to select nurbs geometry/primitives. NURBS are very good to work with when it comes to animations as they do not show up in renders. To make the foot control, start by making nurbs circle, You can do this by entering the create tab, selecting NURBS primitives, then selecting circle. We will need to shape it to represent the foot, then hold down C and snap it under the bridge pivot. Hold down D and V and snap pivot to stabilizer After you have done this, make sure you keep everything neat by deleting by type and selecting history, also make sure to freeze transformations [which is on the top row and looks like snowflake]. This just ensures everything is neat and easy to traverse. Now moving onto making the foot control more foot shaped we need to take into consideration Maya's selection preferences so that we ensure we are selecting the right t...
